To Read You
One of my earliest poems
I want to read you, to apply myself to taking you in: cover to cover, word by word, even letter after letter. To pronounce each sound, each stress, each silence with virtuoso precision— until no part is left unknown— and no part is left unloved.
The picture above is the first writing down of this poem. It’s probably from around 2013 or 2014. It’s a little different from the poem’s current configuration. See how many spelling errors you can find.
